Obituary



Darrell Lee Dotson, age 60, of Gallia County, lost his valiant battle with cancer, Thursday, August 16, 2018.  Darrell was born in Floyd County, KY, December 2, 1957, to the late Jackie Lee Dotson, and Leona Ruth Dotson, who survives.  Darrell was a 1975 graduate of Southwestern high school.  He served in the United States Army in 1975-1978, serving in Darmstadt Germany in communications.  Darrell's area of expertise was held in electronics with an Associates Degree and in computer programming.
His interests were riding motorcycles, growing vegetables and flowers.  Above all, Darrell was a family man. He loved his wife of 35 years and their two sons.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Brenda, sons-Jacob Lee (Morgan Shay) Dotson, and Vincent Andrew (Jacqueline Sue Norman) Dotson; his mother, Ruth Dotson; brothers Bobby Ray (Daleen) Dotson, Tony Alan (Melissa) Dotson, sister Mary (Guy) Crago; nephews Zach and Justin Crago, Megan and Ashley Dotson, great-nephews Jackson and Maxton Whitmore; brother-in-law Larry (Bev) Rupe, sister-in-law Lois (James) Snodgrass, very special friends Mrs. Dallas L. Such, Sr., and Ronnie Griffith.  Preceding Darrell in death, his father, Jackie Lee Dotson, his niece, Elizabeth Kay (Dotson) Whitmore, his father and mother in law Lawrence A. and Betty L. Rupe, sister-in-law, Charlotte Stewart, brother-in-law, Ralph Stewart.  A celebration of life potluck will be held in Conference Room C at the University of Rio Grande, beneath the cafeteria, on September 1st at 3:00pm.
