Obituary



Betsy Lea Butler, "Sweet Betsy", 51, of Proctorville, OH, wife of Cary D. Butler, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 5, 2018 from the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. She was born August 9, 1967 in West Hamlin, WV, daughter of Carl Douglas and Geraldine Vance Lambert of Ranger, WV. Sweet Betsy graduated in 1985 from Harts High School and earned her Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Marshall University in 1990. She was a nutritionist for WIC. She enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, quilting, and spending time with her family, especially her children, her husband, her twin sister, and her many, many friends and extended family. Betsy loved being a wife and mother. Above all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of God. Before and during her illness, Betsy chose Joy every day even when it was hard. In addition to her husband and parents, survivors include her three children, son, Carl Jeffrey Butler and fiancée, Kristin Snyder and her daughter, Harleigh Pitarre of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Darrah Ann Butler, and son, Kai William Butler, both at home; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Evelyn Marie and Chris Dolin of Ranger, WV, Angie and Eugene Lackey, also of Ranger, twin sister, Becky Fiorenza of Fredonia, PA, Lindo and Scott Stimson of Jefferson City, MO, and Genevieve and Vester Manns of Harts, WV; her brother, Ben Lambert of Iron Station, NC; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 17, at 11:00 am, at the Jefferson Avenue Church of God, 2039 Jefferson Avenue, Huntington, WV 25704, with Pastor Greg Tomlinson officiating. Donations may be sent to the memorial fund at the Jefferson Avenue Church of God in care of Millie Tomlinson.
