ObituaryMyrtle Alene Holley Christian, 94, of Huntington, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Heritage Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 1 pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Roger Mooney. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. Myrtle was born on June 9, 1922 in Cabell County to the late Asa and Ruth Fisher Holley. Myrtle graduated in 1940, from Chesapeake High School as Salutatorian. She work as a waitress at Bailey’s Cafeteria for 33 years. After retirement she became a personal assistant to Mrs. Olivia Howell for several years. Throughout her life she attended Kellogg Independence Holiness Church of God. Myrtle sang in the church choir and was part of various singing groups including the Gospel Light Quartet. She spent much of her time caring for her grandsons who loved her dearly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Billie Everett Christian, whom she married on February 28, 1940. Two brothers, Asa Holley Jr., Howard Fisher Holley; two sisters, Virginia Carney, and Mildred “Tee” Bell. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Fred (Debbie) Christian; two grandchildren, Chad (Kim) Chrisitan, Bryan (Jessica) Christian; two great grandchildren, Kyan Lee Christian, Cade Levi Christian; one sister and brother-in-law, Coe (Wes) Chaffin; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Ellie" Holley; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many staff members at Heritage Center for the love and care they provided to mom for the past 10 years. A heartfelt thanks to the countless other staff members who cared for her. We love all of you. Friends may call from 12 pm until service time on Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home.
