Obituary

James Wesley Swann
(May 19, 1969 - October 21, 2018)

JAMES WESLEY SWANN, 58, of Barboursville, passed away October 21, 2018. He was born May 19, 1960, in Huntington, W.Va., the oldest son of the late Leo J. and Eleaner J. Thompson Swann. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Simon Morrison. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Wes is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel E. and Gina T. Swann, one very special nephew, Eli J. Swann, uncle, John, and Aunt Mary Swann, all of Barboursville, and uncle, James A. Swann of Columbia, S.C.; and several cousins both near and far. Also lifelong friend, Jimmy Harshbarger, PALS. Wes graduated from Barboursville High School in 1978 and retired from the Huntington CSX Locomotive shops. Wes loved music, WVU sports and children. He always had a special bond with children and loved spending time with them. Wes was an avid outdoorsman and shared many memorable hunting and fishing trips with family and friends. He had recently purchased his boyhood homeplace and was very excited to spend time in the woods he grew up in. Wes will be greatly missed by those who knew him best. Rest in peace, my brother. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
