Obituary



Larry Gene Tackett, 74, of Branchland, WV, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, June 3, 2016, at Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly, 2485 4th. Ave., Huntington, with Pastor Tony Mays and Paul Howard officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Military Graveside rites conducted by Veterans Honor Guard Post 16. He was born January 19, 1942 in Huntington a son of the late Charles and Maxine Adkins Tackett. He was a janitor for the Federal Buildings; was formerly a welder at Martin Steel; and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, having served five tours in Vietnam. He was a member and board member of Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Ronica and Eddie Barreto of Huntington; a step daughter and son-in-law, Latonya and Randy Stepp of Prichard, WV; a step son, Lynn and Donetta Campbell of Wayne, WV; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Jack Wetherall of Huntington; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael and Barbara Tackett of Ohio and Charles Tackett of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
