Miss Mary Jane Stanley, 77, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at her residence. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, November 14, 2016, at the Woodmere Memorial Park Abbey of Remembrance, with Pastor Steve Hamrick and Rev. Phil Wilson officiating. Burial will follow. She was born December 11, 1938, in Milton, WV, a daughter of the late Jesse Stanley Sr., and Edith Cutler Stanley. One sister, Joyce A. Booth, and 4 brothers, Jesse Stanley, Jr., William Theodore Stanley, John Stanley and Harry Parr Stanley also preceded her in death. She was a 1957 HEHS graduate, an elected official for the Republican party, and a faithful member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church where she served as communion and worship steward for many years, and was a faithful member of the choir. She was a retired school cook from Highlawn Elementary School. Friends may call 30 minutes prior to service time Monday at the cemetery. Chapman's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
