George W. Adams
(February 22,1926 - April 3, 2010)


George W. Adams, 84, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday, April 3, 2010, in the V.A. Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Jerry Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Flowers Cemetery, Cabell, Co., WV. George was born February 22, 1926 in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Ezra and Hester Adkins Adams. He was preceded in death by one son, George Michael Adams; one brother, Kenneth Adams; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Oretha and Willard Campbell, and Mildred and Don Tignor. He was a sewing machine mechanic and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War. Survivors include two sons, Bruce Adams and wife Angela of Huntington and William E. Adams of Greenville, SC; three grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews; the mother of his children, Patricia L. Adams of Huntington; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Beryl Gilbert of Huntington.
