Marion Rose Irby
(July 1, 1928 - April 1, 2010)


Our loving mother & grandmother, Marion Rose Irby, 81, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with her Lord & Savior, Thursday April 1, 2010 in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday April 5, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Darrell Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Rose was born July 1, 1928 in Richwood, WV, a daughter of the late Carter & Mary Baker Stevens. She attended Huntington Gospel Chapel where she faithfully served the Lord. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Cecil Stevens & 1 sister Helen Whitt. Survivors include her husband Daniel Lee Irby, 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Denise & Jim Evans of Barboursville, D.J. & Darrell Adkins of Huntington, 1 sister, Grace Stevens of Huntington, 1 granddaughter, Alison Ortiz, & 1 step granddaughter, Christy Schoemer both of Barboursville, 3 great grandchildren, Jon Ortiz, Tiffani & Jarek Montgomery, 2 step great grandchildren, Kayla & Mikey Schoemer, 1 step great great grandson, Anthony James Rucker, special niece she loved dearly Lawassa Blower & several other nieces & nephews & a host of friends including a special friend Nancy Scarberry. Rose had a since of humor and a witty personality and loved a good joke. She will be deeply missed by her family. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday April 4, 2010.
