Elizabeth Lucille Hyer Doyle
October 16, 1917 - April 10-2010)



Elizabeth "Lucille" Hyer Doyle, 92, widow of Patrick Doyle, went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 10, 2010, at Midland Meadows Assisted Living in Ona. Lucille was born October 16, 1917, in Sutton (Braxton County), WV, the daughter of the late Edna Alice Hosey Hyer and Albert Hyer. Lucille grew up in Centralia and Sutton WV and graduated from Sutton High School. She worked at the Sutton Department Store. On November 6, 1949, she and Patrick Doyle, also from Sutton were married and moved to Huntington. Lucille worked at the Anderson Newcomb Department Store and was an Avon sales representative for over 38 years. Lucille was a faithful member of the former 20th Street Baptist Church and New Baptist Church, of which she was a charter member.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Garland Doyle, in 1997, and by an infant son, David Patrick. She was also preceded by her loving brother, Willard Patrick Hyer of Baltimore, MD.
Lucille is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patti Lou and David Cooper of Huntington; granddaughter and husband, Rachel Arianne and Garrick Pridemore and grandson, Jonathan Patrick Cooper, all of Huntington. Lucille is also survived by sister-in-law, Doris Hyer of Baltimore, MD, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be Tuesday April 13, from 6:00-9:00 PM at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington. Services, with Pastor Trent Eastman and Pastor Don Walker officiating, will be Wednesday, April 14, at 11:00 AM at Chapman's Mortuary. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to New Baptist Church at 610 28th Street, Huntington, WV, 25702.
The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Midland Meadows for their care for Lucille during the past seven months while she was a resident there.
