Grace Elizabeth Bias
(October 27, 1927 - February 18, 2010)



Grace Elizabeth Bias, 82, formerly of Lavalette, widow of Harold Bias, passed away Thursday February 18, 2010 at a personal care home in Greenbottom, WV. She was born October 27, 1927 in Athalia, Ohio, a daughter of the late Roy Hector and Helen Margaret Singer Burcham. Two brothers also preceded her in death. Grace was an avid bowler, loved to crochet and knit, loved her dogs, was a former member of #89 O.E.S. Guyandotte, and had formerly attended the Faith Baptist Church. She had retired from Mildred Mitchell Batemen Hospital as an L.P.N. having started in 1977 when it was known as the Huntington State Hospital. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven H. and Barbara Bias of Barboursville, and Bruce W. and Anita "June" Bias of Huntington; a brother, Bernard Burcham of Point Pleasant, WV; and a grandson, Luke Austin Bias of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM Sunday February 21, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Jeff Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 1:00 PM Sunday at Chapman's Mortuary.
