Charles Stone Cook
(August 1, 1926 - February 26, 2010)



Charles Stone Cook, 83, of Huntington, died Friday, February 26, 2010 in Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5640 Shawnee Drive, with Bishop Jay Duncan officiating. Entombment will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, with military graveside rites conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard Post 16. He was born August 1, 1926 in Somerville MA, the son of the late Hector Charles and Helen Marie Stone Cook. Preceding him in death, his first wife, Bettie Monnig Cook, two sons, Thomas Stone Cook and Daniel Joseph Cook and a daughter-in-law, Cathy Cook. He was a WWII US Army veteran, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, BPOE Lodge 313 Huntington, and the American Legion Post 16. He was the owner/operator of the former Southside Pharmacy, and retired from Fruth Pharmacy at age 80, with over 25 years of service. Survivors include; his wife Gracalie Wroten Cook; three sons, David G. Cook and wife Jan of Sunnyvale, TX, James V. Cook and wife Lisa of Dallas, TX, and Charles L. Cook of Huntington; two step-daughters, Cynthia Copeland of Bend, OR, and Stella Rabinowitz and husband Steve of Wellington, FL; two step-sons, Jim Dillistone and wife Claudia of Hurricane, WV and David Dillistone and wife Silver of Huntington; four grand-children, Rachel Curran, Ryan Cook, Elizabeth Monnig Cook and Maverick Cook; 16 step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday March 2, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington.
