    Nina 
    Rebecca Shafer 
    
    (May 12, 1927 - February 10, 2010)
     
    Mrs. Nina R. Shafer, 82, of Huntington, loving and 
    devoted wife to the late Kenneth F. Shafer, passed away Wednesday, February 
    10, 2010, in St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 
    a.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with 
    the Rev. Ray Vance officiating. Entombment will follow in Christus Chapel 
    Mausoleum, White Chapel Memorial Gardens Barboursville. She was born May 12, 
    1927, daughter to the late Emmett and Mammie Blankenship. She is survived by 
    a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Laurie Shafer, grandchildren Kenny and 
    Wesley; Jack Shafer, whom she loved as a son, and his wife Kim Johnson 
    Shafer, grandson Lee Shafer, step-grandchildren Bradley, Justin, and Jessica 
    Johnson, and several step great grandchildren, all of Huntington; Gloria 
    Johnston, whom she loved as a daughter, and her husband Jim of Milton; 
    sister and brother-in-law Lena and T.R. Wickline of Huntington, 
    sister-in-law Lucille Blankenship of Barboursville; sister-in-law Margaret 
    Blankenship of Wenatchee, Washington; sister-in-law Mary Heatherly of Fort 
    Walton Beach, FL; sister-in-law Virginia Overton of North Ridgeville, Oh; 
    niece and nephews Gail and Eddie Ashworth of Hurricane, Nancy and Gary Grant 
    of Boynton Beach, Fl, Teresa and Steve Dailey of Milton, Melody Humrichouser 
    of Davenport, FL, Jeanette Morris of Barboursville, Marsha and Rick Polling 
    of Barboursville, David and Janie Shafer of Huntington, Judy Shafer of 
    Huntington, and Linda and John Hurst of North Ridgeville, OH, and several 
    great nieces and great nephews. She also had a special friend, Tony Adkins. 
    The family offers special thanks to all of the nurses and doctors of St. 
    Mary's Neurology Unit for their loving car and support provided during her 
    stay. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary after 10 a.m., Tuesday, 
    February 16, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made 
    to the 5'h Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, 306 5th Ave, Guyandotte,
