Obituary

Beulah Faye Sims Walden
(February 24, 2010)

Beulah Faye Sims Walden, 85, of Ona, WV went to her heavenly home to be with Jesus her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2010. She was born in Pliny, WV, the daughter of the late Harry and Goldie Sims. Beulah attended public schools in Mason County, WV and graduated from Hannan High School. After marrying Denver Walden, she was a homemaker, who devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Beulah was a faithful and active member of the New Baptist Church (and its predecessor the 20th Street Baptist Church).

In addition to her parents, Beulah was preceded in death by Denver Walden, her husband of 59 years, and her two brothers, Quincy Sims and Kenneth Sims. Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law; Darrell and Sherry Walden; a daughter, Donna Best; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, David and Jessica Walden, Angela and Steve Ball, Allison and Kyle Swingle, Erik and Dusty Best, Brandon and Laren Best, and Leslie Best; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Mary Sims and Geneva Adams; brother-in-law, Donald Greenwell; nephew, Gary Sims; and 3 nieces, Alicia McQuain, Susan Geoheghan, and Jill Geoheghan. In addition, Beulah's family would like to thank the staff of Midland Meadows for the love and care they provided to her while she resided in their community.

Her family rejoices in the knowledge that Beulah accepted Jesus as her personal Savior many years ago, and she exemplified the Christian way of life. Visitation will be held at Chapman's Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 27th. Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Trenton D. Eastman at New Baptist Church, 610 28th Street, on Sunday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m., burial at White Chapel Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to the New Baptist Church, P.O. Box 8137, Huntington, WV 25705.
