Walter "Buddy" Finley, Jr.

Walter "Buddy" Finley, Jr., 70, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday February 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, February 22, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Ken Toler officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville with military graveside rites conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard Post 16, Huntington, WV. He was born April 9, 1939, in Matewan, WV, a son of the late Walter Finley, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Jackson Finley. Two sisters, Alice Wulff and Connie Blevins, and two brothers, Estel Adkins and Homer Adkins also preceded him in death. He was a U S Army veteran, and retired from Mildred Mitchell Bateman Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife Carol Sue Simpkins Finley; six sisters, Violet Evans (Alex), Leberna Harrison (Robin), Mary Elizabeth VanGundy (Marvin), Virginia Mae Stacey (Kenis), Thelma Watts and Delorse Stewart; two brothers, Elijah Adkins (Linda), and Everette Adkins (Linda); many nieces and nephews. Friends may call one hour prior to service time Monday at the funeral home.
