Marie Della Abshire, 91, of Huntington, WV died Wednesday July 13, 2011 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Marie was born September 27, 1919 in Lenore City, TN a daughter of the late Samuel Lonzo & Pearl Maude Lawson Brown. She retired from the former F W Means Company. She was preceded in death by her husband Bennie Abshire & a son Ivan Abshire. Survivors include a daughter Linda (Jack) Butcher of Huntington, a sister, Opal Douglas of Boise, ID, 5 grandchildren, Melissa Williams (Steve), Larry Saunders, Robert Saunders (Elizabeth) all of Huntington, Shane Abshire of Ashland, KY, Brandy He’Bert of Myrtle Beach, SC, 6 great-grandchildren, Brandon Combs, Donald Williams, Hunter Abshire, Lyndsey Saunders, Amber Saunders & Jon Thomas Saunders, a daughter-in-law Johnetta Abshire, and special friends Tina & Tom Fulks and Keith Combs. There will be private services. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
