Virginia Alice "Toots" Blankenship
(May 8, 1921 - July 3, 2011)



Virginia A. “Toots” Blankenship 90, of Rocky River, Ohio, formerly of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on July 3, 2011. She was born May 8 1921, in Logan, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Carrie Dinkins Breitenstein. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Richard A. Blankenship; son, James E. Blankenship; sister, Ruth Breitenstein Purdy, sisters-in-law, Catherine Seitz, Mary Elizabeth Gibson and Shirley Waugh; and brothers-in-law, Jack Blankenship, Gene Blankenship, Robert Blankenship and Keith Blankenship. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald R. and Emese Blankenship of Rocky River, Ohio; daughter-in-law Susan Smith of Buffalo, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Barbara Sue Russell of Barboursville, W.Va.; and Marie Blankenship; and grandchildren Emese A. Blankenship and Katalin E. Blankenship of Rocky River, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Eugene R. Houck officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 6, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy may be made to Crook Chapel Church, Huntington, WV.
