Christopher R. Belfoure
(February 9, 1987 - July 3, 2011)
Christopher R. Belfoure, 24, born
February 9th 1987 in New Haven, CT. died July 3rd 2011, after a tragic
accident in West Virginia. He graduated from Valley Regional H.S. in 2005,
and from West Virginia University in 2010 with a degree in History and
Chinese. He spoke fluent Mandarian which led him to a job in Shanghai,
China, as a corporate trainer. Chris was a charming, intelligent, ambitious
individual with a zest for life and adventure. He excelled at bringing
people together, and injecting laughter and a positive energy into
everyone's life. He was also an advocate for the environment. He is survived
by his mother, Robin Chapin, of Ivoryton, CT. and his father, Charles
Belfoure, of Westminster, MD. Additional survivors include his step father,
George Chapin, and stepmother, Gloria Mikolajczyk. His wonderful sister,
Julie Conner, of Downingtown, PA, along with her husband, Andy, and her son,
Reed, miss him dearly. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Carl
and Phyllis Mirsky of Ardsely, NY; his aunts, Sheryl Chamberlain, of
California, Michelle Abelson of New York and his uncle, Robert Mirsky, M.D.,
of Pennsylvania, and cousins and step brothers. He was predeceased by his
paternal grandmother, Eve Kristine Belfoure. Memorial Services will be held
Sat. July 16th at 2p at the Centerbrook Meeting House, 49-51 Main St.
Centerbrook, CT. In lieu of flowers Memorial Funds will be set up in Chris'
Memory. Information will be available at the memorial service. Chapman’s
Mortuary in Huntington, WV, assisted the family with arrangements.
