William Carpenter

William Carpenter, 78, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor William Kouns officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, with Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 conducting military graveside rites. He was born October 11, 1932 in Dayton, KY a son of the late William and Amy Janey Carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include: his wife, Jean Carpenter; two daughters, Pamala McKnight of Benton, Arkansas and Tenna Reid of Garfield, Arkansas; a son, William Jay Carpenter of Selignau, Missouri; three step daughters, Patricia Carter of Huntington, Joanie Reynolds of Nashville, TN and Cindy Alzayyat of Saudi Arabia; a step son, Bob McClary, Jr of Huntington; two sisters, Freda Kingery and Mary McDaniel, both of Huntington; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
