Dr. Katharine Marie Rodier, 56, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born March 16, 1955, in New Port, RI, a daughter of Barbara D’Armond Rodier of Falls Church VA, and the late Capt. Richard Louis Rodier, USN Ret. She graduated from JEB Stuart High School in Falls Church VA, received her BA, MA and MFA from the University of Virginia, and her PhD. from the University of Connecticut. She was a professor in the English Department at Marshall University. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: two sisters, Sarah Rodier of Bluffton, SC, and Anne Rodier Sanda of Weston, Mass; one brother, Robert Rodier of Falls Church, VA; and three nephews, Matthew Sanda, Gregory Sanda and William O. Rodier. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
