John Paul Houck, 73, of Milton, WV, died Thursday, April 16, 2015, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was the husband of Donna Jean Houck, 67, of Milton, who died on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. A funeral service for both of them will be conducted at 12:00 pm Friday, April 24, 2015 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Pastor Doug Spurlock officiating. Burial for both will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Huntington, with military graveside rites conducted by, Veterans Honor Guard Post 16, for John. John was born December 8, 1941, in Grayson, KY, a son of the late Ora and Juanita M. Newman Houck. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Gray. Donna was born December 28, 1947, in Huntington, WV, the daughter of Icy Jude Eplion of Guyandotte, and the late Richard Lee Eplion. She was also preceded in death by twin infant sons, and two brothers, Phillip Eplion (infant) and Roger Eplion. John and Donna were faithful members of the Second Guyandotte Missionary Baptist Church. John was a member of United Steel Workers Union Local 37 and retired from Steel of WV. Donna had many jobs over the years, but her passion was being a dedicated homemaker . They are survived by a daughter, four sons, and their spouses; Johnetta and Randall Brandon of Humble, TX, Gregory and Rhonda France of Barboursville, Timothy and Marlene France of Oklahoma City, OK, Jamey and Crystal Houck of Ona, and Matthew and Tammy France of Barboursville. The two had thirteen grandchildren, Brian, Chase, and James Brandon; Lauren and Jenn France; Andrew and Whitney France; Ryan and Rachael Houck; Bryar Crouch and Autum England; Caleb and Anna France; and three great-grandchildren; Rylee and Shade England; and Navy Jade Crouch. Additional survivors are John’s sister, Shelia and Lee Mullins of South Point, OH; and Donna’s sister, Patricia Beaman of Chesapeake, OH; her two brothers, Danny Eplion of Proctorville, and Richard and Gladys Eplion of Guyandotte; Donna’s special niece and their caretaker, Dawnetta Pease, and two very special friends Pat and David Poole of Waycross, GA. There is also a host of other family and friends that are saddened with their passing and will cherish their memories of John and Donna. Friends may visit with family 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
