Obituary

Marian Lynette Stewart
(December 29, 1950 - April 30, 2015)

Marian L. Stewart, 64, of Huntington, WV, passed away on April 30, 2015 at home. Marian was born on December 29, 1950, the daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson and Virginia Mae Walker Leach of Huntington, WV. She was the youngest of three children. Marian was preceded in death by her parents and sister Florella Jean Keller. Survivors include her husband Robert Steven Stewart of Huntington, WV; a son Robert Alan Stewart of Orange, VA; a daughter, son in-law, and granddaughter Cynthia Mae, Erik, and Alana Reilly Daniels of Ruther Glen, VA; a brother Ashby Grey Walker Leach of Fort Gay, WV; and a whole host of nieces and nephews. Marian was a 1969 graduate of Huntington East High School, and studied music theory at Marshall University. She was married to her husband Robert for nearly forty years, was a homemaker, and a member of The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Marian's favorite scriptural passage is from The Book of Isaiah 11:6 "And the wolf will actually reside for a while with the male lamb, and with the kid the leopard itself will lie down, and the calf and the maned young lion and the well fed animal all together; and a mere little boy will be leader over them." This was Marian's belief and hope for a better world that she is now asleep in death awaiting the resurrection. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may instead be sent to The Humane Society of the United States. Friends may visit with the family at Chapman's Mortuary after 6 pm on Monday, May 4, 2015, until the time of the memorial service at 7 pm. David Whitton will be officiating Marian's memorial service.
