Wayne Nathaniel Martin, 64, of Huntington, died Wednesday January, 28, 2015, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1951, in Huntington, a son of the late Nathaniel “Duke” and Anis Cardic Martin. He retired from The Herald Dispatch, and had worked formerly for Classic Construction. Wayne was an avid tennis player, and loved the Cleveland Browns and Boston Celtics. Survivors include his lifetime friend, wife, and mother of his children, Donna Speakes of Huntington; a daughter, Tracy Martin of Huntington; his son, Justin Martin, also of Huntington; five grandchildren, Justin Martin, Josh Martin, Jason Martin, Jordan Martin, and Santana Martin; three sisters and one niece; and several close friends, Hosea Chapman, David Callahan, Rick Booton, Maurice Cooley, and Gary Ward, including a very special friend Kenny Simms of Huntington. The family wishes to have private memorial services at a later date, and he will be greatly missed.
