Vida Violet Adkins, 91, of Barboursville, WV, died Friday March 30, 2018 at her residence. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Wednesday April 4, 2018 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Tracy Call officiating. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV. Vida was born December 12, 1926 in Hamlin, WV a daughter of the late Wilburn Floyd and Ruth Agnes Adkins Lucas. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Walter Edward Monday and her second husband Harlen Vernin Adkins, three brothers and four sisters. She was Methodist by faith. Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Adkins Heaberlin of Barboursville, WV, Jane Monday Jackson of Proctorville, OH, two sons, Vernin Lee Adkins of South Point, and Leonard Edward Monday of Barboursville, a stepson, Gordon Monday of Sod, WV, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and two sisters, Ilene Miesslear of Barboursville and Zelma Adkins of Hamlin. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
