Obituary



Ronald Frank "Sam" Gebhardt, 79, of Glenwood, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastor Kevin Shull officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery. He was born December 8, 1938 in Glenwood a son of the late Carl Andrew and Mavis Louise Moore Gebhardt. Ronald retired from Childers Construction and was a member of the International Operating Union Engineers, IUOE Local 132. He was a member of the Covered Bridge Car Club, had been inducted into the Drag Racers Hall of Fame and attended the Spurlock Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 59 years of marriage had they been able to celebrate their anniversary on March 12th, Georgia Henry Gebhardt; three daughters, Felicia Thompson (Alan), Karla Reinhold (Kevin), and Krystal Gebhardt (Shanen), all of Glenwood; eight grandchildren, Kristy (Bo), Holly (Justin), Shawn, Scott (Mandy), Kevin (Amber), Anthony (Rosie), Brian (Chelsea), and Kenzie; four great grandchildren, Carly, Kendy, Layne, and Casen; one great granddaughter due in April, Kasey Winters; a brother, Dwight Gebhardt (Dianna) of Glenwood; and his sidekick and special dog, Bruno. Special thanks from the family to Michael Collins, MD. Donations would be appreciated to the Covered Bridge Car Club at Route 1 Box 374, Milton, WV 25541. Friends may visit with family 6:00-8:00 pm Monday March 5, 2018 at Chapman's Mortuary.
