Mildred Lee Blankenship Asbury
(October 16, 1920 - January 6, 2018)



MILDRED LEE BLANKENSHIP ASBURY, 97, of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with Rev. Eugene R. Houck officiating. Entombment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens Christus Mausoleum. She was born October 16, 1920, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Carl S. and Lula Crook Blankenship. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Asbury; one grandson, Carlton Lee Asbury II; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Blankenship, Hazel Bunn and Frances Singer; and two brothers, Mitch Blankenship and Bill Blankenship. She is survived by one daughter, Vickie Parsons and her husband Doug of Port St. Lucie, Florida; one son, Carlton Lee Asbury and his wife Sherry of Ona, W.Va.; one sister, Jo Ann Booth of South Point, Ohio; six grandchildren, Cameron Simmons, Todd Simmons, Tiffani (Kevin) McElwain, Jonathan Asbury, Donald Parsons and Amanda (Bill) Ulrich; 12 great-grandchildren, Brittany Simmons, Aaron McElwain, Samuel McElwain, Jake Asbury, Bo Asbury, Kai Simmons, Leah Parsons, Will Parsons, Noah Parsons, Christian Ulrich, Zachary Ulrich and Hallie McElwain. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
