Russell Freeman Gibson
(April 2, 1942 - January 4, 2018)



RUSSELL FREEMAN "HOOT" GIBSON, 75, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2018, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with Rev. David Cardwell and Pastor Chris Fulks officiating. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. He was born April 2, 1942, in Cabell County, a son of the late Reen Gibson Jr. and Dorothy Clark Gibson. He was retired from INCO Alloys and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wetzel Gibson and Ronald Gibson. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Faye Chapman Gibson; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Bruce Clary; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Kara Gibson; one sister, Charlotte Losh; one brother, Roger Gibson; four grandchildren, Jonathan Ray Burns, Savanna Nicole Clary, Lillian Kate Jones and Allyson Faye Gibson; and a "special son," Bradley Cox. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Huntington for all their care and support.
