Obituary

William David Viars
(August 31, 1946 - January 14, 2018)

WILLIAM DAVID VIARS, 71, of Ona, went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 14, 2018, following a short illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Harless officiating. Burial will be in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, W.Va. He was born August 31, 1946, in Princeton, W.Va., a son of the late Jesse and Ruth Evans Viars. He was a minister, having retired from the Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly Church, and was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served during the Viet Nam War. He is survived by his wife, Lois Ann Meade Viars; one daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Steve Thomas of Milton; one sister and brother-in-law, Molly and Larry Lewis of Hopkinsville, Ky.; and one grandson who was like a son, Blake Viars-Wilks. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
