Obituary

James Scott Adkins
(June 18, 1943 - April 26, 2014)



James Scott Adkins, 70, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday April 26, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday April 30, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Scott Lambert officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. James was born June 18, 1943 in Lincoln, County, WV a son of the late Ardon & Edith Plumley Adkins. He was a retired Staff Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, a life member of V.F.W. Post 1064, the D.A.V. and American Legion Post 93 of Kenova. Two sisters, Rose Pack & Joyce Adkins and one brother, Bobby Adkins, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Adkins, two daughters, Angela Reyes of Chillicothe, OH, and Teresa Reyes of Huntington, two sons, Phillip Ball of Catlettsburg, KY & Anthony Reyes of Louisville, KY, one sister, Patty Pasquino of Moundsville, WV, two brothers, Roger Adkins of Huntington and Cecil Adkins of West Hamlin, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday April 29, 2014.
