Obituary

Walter Harris
(December 29, 1927 - April 21, 2014)


Walter Harris, 86, of Huntington, WV, died Monday April 21, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Graveside funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday April 23, 2014 at Greenbottom Memorial Park, with Pastor Gordon Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow. Walter was born December 29, 1927 in Barboursville, WV a son of the late Ed & Bertha Meadows Harris. He was retired from Appalachian Power Co. One daughter Linda Diane Harris and nine brothers & sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Glenna May Beller Harris, two sons, David Lee Harris & wife Dottie, Dr. Gary Dale Harris & wife Cheryl, one daughter, Teresa Ellen Weed & husband Ronnie, eight grandchildren, Angela Forth & husband Rick, Wendy Harris, Farah Woodburn & husband Jake, Dr. Bethany Porter & husband Mathew, Louria Lestor, & husband Brannon, Amy Priode & husband Seth, Ellen & Christopher Weed and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
