Leona Mae Irish
(September 28, 1932 - April 22, 2014)


Leona Mae Irish, 81, of Huntington, widow of Bruce Irish, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was born September 28, 1932, in Hoglane, IN, a daughter of the late Clyde T. and Minnie Violet Damon Rhoads. She also had an infant sister and infant brother precede her in death. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kitty and Ruddie Byron of Flint, MI, and Sherry and Garth Quinn of Cedar Lake, IN; four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Elaine Irish of Chesapeake, OH, Jeffrey and Kiva Irish of Las Vegas, NV, Russell and Lisa Irish of South Point, OH, and Phillip and Lynn Irish of Inverness, FL; a brother-in-law, William L. and Connie Aldridge of Gulf Breeze, FL; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services conducted by Major Matthew Riley will be 6:00 pm Friday, April 25, 2014, at The Salvation Army, of which she was a member, at 1223 3rd Ave, Huntington, WV 25701. Friends may visit with family after 4:00 pm until service time Friday and a reception with light refreshments will follow services. A committal graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Perseverance Chapel Cemetery in Corydon, IN.
