Mary Lou Barbera
(October 13, 1930 - April 7, 2014)



Mary Lou Barbera, 83, of Huntington, WV, died Monday April7, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A service in Witness to the Resurrection will be held 1:00 PM Saturday April 12, 2014 at Highlawn Presbyterian Church with Dr. Richard B. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Mary Lou was born October 13, 1930 in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late J. Hathaway & Erma Stadler Guthrie. She was a member of Highlawn Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Albert Barbera, one brother, Roland Guthrie and an infant granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Reynolds, preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter Linda Reynolds & husband David, one son, Michael Barbera & wife Tara all of Huntington, three grandsons, Michael A. Barbera II & wife Tiffany & Joe Barbera all of Huntington, Nick Reynolds & fiancée JoAnna Bokovitz of New York, NY, one great granddaughter, Mackenzie Lee Barbera, three sisters-in-law, Madge Guthrie of Morgantown, WV, Martha Kiernan of San Antonio, TX, and Mary Jo Konieczka of Charlotte, NC and many nephews, nieces, several cousins, and a son in her heart John Xenos and a dear friend Margery Streib and a special friend Amanda Godbey. She was devoted to her family, had an amazing green thumb and was a life long animal lover. The family would like to thank, NTICU staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Dr’s Audra & Donavan Price, Dr. William Beam & Dr. Tucker Jennings & the staff at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for all their loving care. Donations may be made to the Little Victories Animal Rescue or the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday April 11, 2014.
