Obituary


Ricky Lee Cobern, 59, of Proctorville, OH, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born October 3, 1956 in Huntington a son of the late Dovie Eloise Nibert Wallace and his loving father, Culvy Ivan Wallace. His sister, Cathy Chinn also preceded him in death. Ricky was a basketball fan, and had a love of computers that lead him to the I.T. Support Department of Alcon Manufacturing where he retired after 34 years' service. He leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Myrtle Virginia Cobern; two sons, Darrick Lee Cobern and his girlfriend, Samantha Preece, and Justin Michael Cobern and his fiancée, Whitney Stephens; grandson, Alanden Latrelle Cobern (7) and granddaughter, Makalah Alexis Cobern (5), who knew him as "Paw Paw"; his brothers and sisters, Johnny Cobern, Debbie Hassie (Delbert Adkins), Sandy New (Kenney), Steven Wallace, Leshie Smith (Chuck), Angie Johnson (Darrell), and Kim Keaton (James Kirby); and a brother-in-law, Tommy Chinn. He will also be sadly missed by his uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Chapman's Mortuary with Douglas Hickman officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
