Obituary



Barbara Ann Howell Holbrook, 69, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Bob Hogsett officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Barbara was born January 1, 1947 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Clyde Wilburn and Madelyn Audrey Epperly Howell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam G. Holbrook and a sister, Rose Marie Chaffins. She was retired from the accounting department at the Huntington Veterans Administration Medical Center and attended Seventh Avenue Baptist Church and the former Beverly Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Randy Nicholas of Huntington; a son, Todd Holbrook of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Wes Skaggs, Maddie Holbrook, Sam Holbrook, Audrey Holbrook, Jack Holbrook, Bear Nicholas, and Richie (Carrie) Nicholas; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Harold Beaty of Huntington; several nieces nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and her faithful companions, her dog, Molly and her cat, Socks. The family would like to thank Dr. Brandon Shiflett and ICU Nurse Candi, for their loving care. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, June 27, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary.
