Obituary



Wilma Lea "Billie" Massie 82, of Glenwood, WV, widow of Jackie Lee Massie, Sr., went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 16, 2016, in Saint Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Ray Knapp officiating. Burial will be in Greenbottom Memorial Park. She was born October 28, 1933, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Elwood and Mary Susan Shull Spurlock. A son, Jackie L. Massie Jr., a brother, Elwood Spurlock Jr., and two brothers-in-law Stanley Chapman and Elvin Clagg also preceded her in death. She retired as a seamstress for Quality Bedding with over 30 years of service, and attended Christ Temple Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and John Allen of Milton, and Denise and Danny Clagg of Glenwood; 4 sisters, Mona Chapman, Ruth Clagg, Esther Hesson (Russell) and Sharolyn Conrad (Dwight); one brother and his wife, Randall and Elfriede Spurlock; one daughter-in-law, Teresa Massie; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Spurlock; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
