Obituary



Mack L. Miller, 78, of Ona, WV, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Monday, June 27, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Dr. David B. Lemming and Luke Miller officiating. Entombment will be in the White Chapel Mausoleum, Barboursville. Mack was born June 17, 1938, in Huntington, WV a son of the late Charles E. and Agnes Burd Miller. Four sisters and four brothers also preceded him in death. He retired as a crane operator from the CSX Huntington Locomotive Shops, with 35 years of service. Mack was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, and the Brothers of the Ring. In 1957, he boxed as an amateur featherweight for VFW Post 1064, with a total of 24 TKO's and 1 loss by split decision in the Golden Gloves at the Veterans Memorial Field House. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Dudding Miller; one daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany Kraus and Colonel Karl Kraus, (U S Army, ret.) of Huntsville, AL; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark D. and Karen Miller of Scott Depot, WV; and Chad M. Miller of Ona, WV; two brothers, Bill Miller of Columbus, OH, and Henry Miller of Huntington; four grandchildren, Ty Miller, Luke Miller, Kohl Kraus and Abigail Kraus; and best friend Bob Hall. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service time Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702, or Lewis Memorial Baptist Church General Fund, 5385 West Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, WV 25705 in memory of Mack.
