Avis Eloise Fugate, 78, of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017, in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born September 12, 1938 in Milton, WV a daughter of the late Wilmer and Ollie Virginia Chapman Meadows. Her husband, Carroll Francis "Corky" Fugate, Jr. and a brother, Ervin Meadows, also preceded her in death. She was the former manager of large appliances at Mack and Dave's and was a member of Trinity Church of God. Survivors include: three sisters, Cathie Meadows of Huntington, Faye Martin of Houston, TX, and Stella Brock of Hesperia, CA; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Erik Meadows of Cleveland, OH and a special niece, Olivia Byron, of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted noon Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Ken Toler officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice, Huntington.
