Obituary


Mary Etta Rowsey 80, of Chesapeake, OH, widow of John Rowsey, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30pm Sunday, January, 29, 2017 at Chapman's Mortuary. She was born April 26, 1936 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late James T. and Lillian Snyder Stephens. One sister, Cecelia Parsons, and one brother Buck Stephens also preceded her in death. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a machine operator in a cigar factory. Survivors include: one daughter, Debra Underdonk of Chesapeake, OH; two sons, James Rowsey and wife Barbara of Orlando, FL, and Michael Rowsey of Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Sally Keefer, Maxine Stephens and Nancy Scarberry all of Huntington; one brother, Bill Stephens also of Huntington; 5 grandchildren, Daniel Rowsey, Megan Rowsey, Paula Bowen, Matthew Wolfe and Jonathan Rowsey.
