Obituary


Kenneth Burton Tower, 86, of Gillett, PA, and Huntington, WV, widower of Phyllis Arlene Smith Tower, died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his residence in Huntington, WV. He was born September, 1, 1930 in Moira, NY, a son of the late Burton and Jesse Wainman Tower. His sister, Alice Delong, and three brothers, Herbert, Robert, and Charles Tower, all preceded him in death. Kenneth was a U.S. Army Veteran, and he was a driller having retired from Continental Drilling Co. in New Alexandria, PA. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Jerry Sterling of Lancaster, NY; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Deborah Tower of Gillett, PA; five grandchildren and spouses, Christopher and Rachel Sterling, Mitchell and Lindsey Sterling, Alyssa and Robbie Wells, Derek Tower and fiancé, Trisha, and Joshua and Noelle Tower; six great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Jean Tower of Baxter, IN. By his request he will be cremated and inurnment will occur at a later date in Gillett Cemetery, Gillett, PA.
