Eva Jo Elkins, 82, of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Midland Meadows. She was born April 22, 1934 in Robinette, WV a daughter of the late Jack and Virgie Amburgey Vernatter. A daughter, Teresa Ann Watts; a sister, Janis Murphy; and a brother, Tommy Vernatter, also preceded her in death. She was a former inspector at Owens-Illinois and was a member of Highlawn Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: her husband of 49 years, Okey L. Elkins; six daughters, April (Paul) McDonough of New Hampshire, Valentine Elkins (Joey) Johnson and Nicki Saunders, all of Huntington, Andrea Baker of Teays Valley, WV, Vicki (Pat) Cole of Huntington, and Kathy (Kevin) McKenna of Chesapeake, OH; thirteen grandchildren, Jessica Figueroa, Jack Edwards, Jason Cole, Jarid Edwards, Cameron McDonough, Neil Elkins, Chrissy Harris, Josh Saunders, Tyler McCreery, Hillary Baird, Nick McCreery, Kateland McCreery, and Riley McKenna; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Jackie (John) Jones of St. Albans, WV and a brother Teddy (Amanda) Vernatter of Columbus, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Friday, March 24, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Dr. Rick Wilson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Highland Cemetery, Huntington. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
