Mary Margaret "Cookie" Verbage Chapman

Mary Margaret “Cookie” Verbage Chapman, 68, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday, November 14, 2011, at her residence. Cookie was born December 31, 1942 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Samuel S. “Shag” and Margaret Lindsay Verbage. Her husband, Patrick Lee Chapman; a brother, Glenn Verbage; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Toufie Kassab, and two brothers-in-law, Bill Short and Bill Chapman, also preceded her in death. Survivors include: a son, Patrick L. Chapman of Barboursville, WV; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie Chapman Pertee and Eugene Pertee of Orrville, OH; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbie and Buddy Kitchen of Dallas, TX, Patty Verbage Spence and Steve Spence and Shorty and Paul Bailey, all of Huntington; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Bo and Alice Verbage of Lavalette, WV, Larry and Vickie Verbage and Joe Verbage, all of Huntington, and Tom and Susan Verbage of Dallas, TX; a sister-in-law, Connie M. Chapman of Milton, WV; seven grandchildren, Lauren Neal Koontz, Erin, Laney, and Makenzie Chapman and Maddie, Mallory, and Maggie Pertee; a great grandson, Bryce St. Clair; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 7:00 PM Friday, November 18, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Kevin West officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
