Dwain Allen Sloane
(October 7, 1946 - November 23, 2011)



Dwain Allen Sloane, 65, of Huntington, WV passed away November 23, 2011 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday November 26, 2011 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Hassel and Pam. He was born October 7, 1946 in Danville, WV and he worked as a service technician for Colonial Food Service Equipment in Huntington prior to retirement. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the US Navy and later served with the 19th Special Forces Group. He was also a member of VFW Post 9738. Dwain is survived by his wife of 33 years the former Donna Adkins. He is also survived by three sons, Sean Sloane and his wife Jody, their children Grace, Ava and James, Jamie Sloane and Joshua Sloane and his daughter Emaleigh, and one daughter Cheryl Sloane Perroud her husband Tony and her children Olivia, Zachary, Taylor and Abigail, and one step-son Eric Jenkins and his fiance Sherry. He is also survived by two brothers, Thurman and his wife Kay, Robert and his wife Jackie and three sisters Rosemary Graham and her husband Glen, Sherry Smith and her husband Gil, and Debbie Juruwan and her husband Bing. The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Bir, Dr. Sharma and their staff, and the supportive and caring staff at Hospice House of Huntington. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday November 25, 2011.
