Obituary
Robert "Bob" Lee Beard, Sr.
86 of Huntington WV went to be with his Lord
and Savior on Wednesday July 22, 2015. Funeral service will be conducted at
noon on Saturday July 25, 2015 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Pastor
Tim Arthur officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens,
Barboursville. He was preceded in death by daughter Jennifer Sue Beard, his
parents Morris and Ruth Beard and his sisters Mary Lou Graham and Evelyn
Graham. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Laura Berta Beard. His
children include daughter Kim (John) Stinespring of Huntington, WV., son,
Robert (Lisa) Beard, Jr of Lexington, Ky , and daughter Roberta (Steve)
Thompson of Miamisburg, Ohio. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Benje
(Julie) Stinespring, Tyler (Sabrina) Ellis, Katelyn (Curt) Mann, Adam
Thompson, Robert Lee Beard, III and Zachary Jacob Eby Beard as well as 5
great grandchildren Tristan and Scarlett Ellis, Cassidy Stinespring, and
Carter and Case Mann. Bob also has one surviving brother, William (Retha)
Beard of Huntington, WV. Bob was retired from CandO railroad after 34 years
of service and was president of the CandO credit union board. He was also a
retired Army veteran and served in Japan during WWII. In lieu of flowers
donations may be sent to the 4th Ave. United Methodist Church (3031 4th Ave.
Huntington, WV 25702). American Legion Post 93 of Kenova will conduct
military graveside rites. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 until
8:00 PM Friday July 24, 2015 at Chapman's Mortuary.
