Obituary

Raymond Keith Gilliam
(December 4, 1949 - July 23, 2015)


Raymond Keith Gilliam 65, of Huntington, passed into the presence of God Thursday, July 23, 2015, in the VA Medical Center Pittsburgh, PA. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Monday, July 27, 2015 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Dr. David B. Lemming officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, with WV Honor Guard Post 16 conducting military graveside rites. He was born December 4, 1949, in Huntington, a son of Claude and Esta Dillon Gilliam. He was a US Army veteran serving in Viet Nam where he received a Purple Heart. Raymond retired from Steel of WV with mover 30 years of service. After retiring, he spent his time fishing, gardening and helping his parents. Survivors in addition to his parents include one sister, Claudia Protzman of Huntington; two nieces, Michelle Protzman of Lynchburg, VA, Amy (CR) Chisholm of Athens, GA; one nephew, Matt (Crystal) Protzman of Leonardtown, MD; great niece and nephews, Bailey, Tucker, Thomas and George. A special thanks to Pastor David Lemming and the Lewis Memorial Baptist Church Visitation Team for faithfully visiting throughout Raymond's illness.
