Obituary
James Hardin "Jim" Isaacs,
89 of Huntington, husband of Martha Peck-Isaacs, entered his Heavenly home
Monday, July 20, 2015, in Saint Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service will
be conducted 12:00 noon Friday, July 24, 2015 at Beverly Hills United
Methodist Church, with Dr. Jerry Wood officiating. Burial will follow in
Rome Cemetery Proctorville, OH, with WV Honor Guard Post 16 conducting
military graveside rites. He was born July 17, 1926, in Midkiff, WV, a son
of the late David and Mary Midkiff Isaacs. In addition to his parents, his
first wife, Carrie Meadows Isaacs, and three sisters, Helen, Billie and
Clarice preceded him in death. He graduated from Guyan Valley High School.
During WW II, he served in both the Navy and the Army. After his discharge,
he returned to active duty with the Army during the Korean Conflict. He
retired from INCO as a welder in the steel shop, was a member of Beverly
Hills United Methodist Church, VFW Post 9738, American Legion Post 16, and
DAV Chapter 2. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and loved playing baseball
for INCO during his younger years. Survivors in addition to his wife
include, two sons, Daniel Isaacs and wife Lou of Barboursville, Jay Isaacs
and companion Sherry of Huntington; his wife's children who loved him
dearly, Mary Faye Leap and Doug of Disputanta, VA., Joe Peck and fiancé Pam
Hunt of Barboursville, Pam Peck Olhoeft and Marc of Washington State; a
sister Virginia Wood of Wayne; two brothers-in-law, Harvey Hall and Froud
Sutphin; 4 grandchildren, David Isaacs, Nicki Dye (Randy), Kristy Stowers
(Kenny), Stephen Isaacs (Kelly); 6 step grandchildren, Jamy Thomas (Rod),
Jody Frazier-Skaggs, Mandy Leap, Becky Zigenfuss, Jerod Peck, and Jesse
Wilburn. Pallbearers will be, Joe Peck, Cody Wilburn, Paul Brunty, Chris
Smith, Phil Hazeldine and John McComas. Friends may call one hour prior to
service time Friday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, please make
contributions to Beverly Hills United Methodist Church in Jim's memory.
