Obituary

George Franklin Chapman
(July 6, 1941 - May 17,2015)



George Franklin Chapman, 73, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1941 in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late George Kelly and Margaret Knight Chapman. A son, Gary Allen Chapman; a sister, Betty Blake; and three brothers, Richard Chapman, Alva Chapman, and Darrell Chapman, also preceded him in death. He was a former equipment operator for Iron Valley Landfill. Survivors include: his wife, Helen Knight Chapman; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Frankie Lee and Vicki Chapman and Danny Ray Chapman, all of Chesapeake, OH; four grandchildren, Robert Ray Jones of Barboursville, WV, Justin Christopher Chapman and his wife, Jessica of South Point, OH, Andrew Preston and his wife, Meagan of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Katheryn Chapman of Ironton, OH; two great grandchildren, Christopher Chapman and Caleb Chapman; a sister, Rosemary Chapman of Huntington; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Ray Knapp officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
