George Ramond "Pete" Goff
(April 16, 1924 - May 11, 2015)



George Ramond “Pete” Goff, 91, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday May 11, 2015 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday May 14, 2015 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington, with Pastor Dwight Mays of Christ Temple Church officiating. Pastor Mays was a longtime friend and coworker of Pete’s. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Pete was born April 16, 1924 in Spencer, WV a son of the late William R. Goff and Rebecca Nester Goff. He was retired from Sears where he worked as a Service Technician. Pete was a member of Rome Church of Christ, where he enjoyed going with his wife for many years. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 6878 in Proctorville, OH and The American Legion Post 16. Pete joined the Navy was later transferred to the Medical Corp and served with the Fourth Marine Division during the seizure of Japanese held Islands of Saipan and Tinian in the Marianas. Pete and Helen loved to travel and would go somewhere every month. He would go with Allen everyday while he lived with us. He just loved to be on the go. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen Riley Paden Goff, a son Dana Goff, a stepson, Gary Nelson Paden, a brother, William J. Goff, two sisters, Mary E Goff and Ruth N Goff. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Paden Meador (Allen) who he made his home with; grandchildren, Cheryl Meador, Allen Meador II, Lisa Maack, Jason Stuiter, Summer Dawn Bailey, Michelle Paden and Josh Paden; a very special great-grandson, Adam Jefferson and a special niece Diane Clemons, as well as nine great-grandchildren. Veteran Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct Military Rites. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from noon until service time Thursday.
