Cornelia Faye Scarberry, 75, of Huntington, formerly Cornelia Faye Knapp went on to be with the Lord Jesus on May 3, 2015. She died at home. She was the widow of Donald A. Scarberry and was born on January 29, 1940 in Glenwood, WV. She was the daughter of William Crockett and Ella Marie Jeffers Knapp and was a retired Cabell County Schools cook. Most of her career she was at Enslow Junior High and Highlawn Elementary. She was a member of Christ Temple Church. She is survived by her daughters Pamela (Robert) Young, Nitro, WV and Tammy (Ronald) Fite, Hardy, KY; granddaughter Janice Marie (Michael) Peele and two great grandchildren—Carter and Amelia. She also has two sisters Helen (Gary) Riley, Proctorville, OH and Barbara Knapp, Milton, WV and a brother William Jeffrey (Brenda) Knapp, Chesapeake, OH. She is survived by her niece and nephew, Kimberly Simpkins and David Spurlock, and many other family and friends. She is survived by a special family friend who was always there for her, taking her to the store and just a phone call away if she needed anything—Burl Edwards, and another dear friend, Greg Miller. Funeral under the direction of Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington with visitation from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening and funeral at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, with burial at Green Bottom Memorial Park, Lesage, WV to follow. Bishop Edwin S. Harper will be officiating the celebration of the life of a Jesus woman who was of a generous and loving heart and warmth of spirit that drew people to her.
