Obituary

Russell Fredrick Pack
(July 9, 1939 - May 7, 2015)



Russell Fredrick Pack, “Russell” to friends, “Fred” to family, 75, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. He was born to Rennie and Sybil Mann Pack on July 9, 1939, in Ethel, WV. In addition to his birth parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving and caring step-mother of 69 years, Martha Pack, one brother, David Pack and one sister, Jessie Bradley. He was a US Army veteran and a resident of the West Virginia Veterans Home in Barboursville for the last three and one half years. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, May 11, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Pastor John M. Duffy of Crossroads Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton, WV, with Veterans Honor Guard Post 16, Huntington conducting military graveside rites. He is survived by sisters, Patty (Larry) Stollings of Ona, Freda (Bill) Smith of Kansas City, KS, Carolyn (Jeff) Crawford and Joann Pack all of Owensboro, KY; brothers, Chester (Elaine) Pack, and Kenneth (Pearlie) Pack all of Owensboro, KY, Robert (Tonya) Pack of Lexington, NC, and Richard (Pamela) Pack of Lebanon, TN; and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may visit two hours prior to service time Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the West Virginia Veterans Home, 512 Water Street Barboursville, WV 25504
