Rocolyn Ventry Kerns 71, of Huntington, widow of Lawrence D."Don" Kerns died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 12, 1946 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Rocco and Marjorie Midkiff Ventry. She was a member of Oak Hill UBI and retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Contract Specialist. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kerri and Scott Burns of Lesage, Jeanna and Gregg Hicks of Huntington; 5 grandchildren, Cory Hicks, Shelbie Jeffrey, Justin VanMeter, Julia Hicks and Katelyn Burns. The family wishes to thank Dawn MacFarland, Donna Brock, Rena Mayo, Amber Bevans and Brandy Baisden for their loving care of their Mom. Special Thanks to Hospice of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Steve Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Greenbottom Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service time Thursday.
