Obituary



John L. "Jack" Wetherall, 81, of Huntington, WV, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in Cabell Health Care Center, Culloden. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, June 8, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington, with Monsignor Dean Borgmeyer, Celebrant. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. He was born September 30, 1936 in Huntington the son of the late Eldon and Evelyn Wetherall. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lenore Wetherall Shy and two granddaughters, Jessica Broce and Emily Wetherall. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jo Ann Wetherall; seven beloved daughters, Regina (Tim) Campbell of Barboursville, WV, Theresa Wetherall of Huntington, Sandra (Dr. Jeffrey) Wachtel and Rebecca (Brad) Broce of Hilton Head, SC, Pamela Wetherall of Bluffton, SC, Michelle Dom of Union Hill, VA and Angela (Dr. James) Clark of Winfield, WV; nineteen grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Theresa Prosek of Mentor, OH and Dolores Mulvy of Houston, TX. He retired from West Virginia American Water Co. with 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Men's Club. He was a volunteer in the Outpatient Center at St. Mary's Medical Center. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of Marshall Football and Basketball. He enjoyed gardening, feeding his birds, and fishing with his family in South Carolina. He was a Kentucky Colonel. His greatest joy was being with his family and special friends, Herb and Twila Marshall. The family would like to thank the staff at Cabell Health Care Center for their kindness to him and his family. A Rosary service will be conducted at 4:30 pm Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, where there will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
